The 2017 GCIP-SA winners were announced at a gala and awards event held in Pretoria recently. The Minister of Science and Technology, Mrs Naledi Pandor, was the keynote speaker at the GCIP-SA gala event, which was attended by approximately 200 other high-level guests from various foreign embassies, government, the private sector, the investment community and academia. Presenting the prizes to the 2017 top performers – overall winner, runners-up and special category winners – Minister Pandor expressed the belief that the entrepreneurs participating in the GCIP-SA would help the country unlock technological innovations that will assist in reducing emissions, not only through the products that they are developing, but through solutions to industrial processes in a range of sectors and domains.
